Returns & Store Credit
Return Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. To start a return, you can got to our ONLINE RETURNS PORTAL.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items Certain types of items cannot be returned, like personal care goods (such as Hair Brushes). Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on final sale items, gift cards and items that have been worn, or altered.

Exchanges The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

European Union 14 day cooling off period Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days.

Warranty Policy

At MACHETE, we take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. We offer a warranty to ensure your satisfaction and provide peace of mind regarding your purchase. Please carefully review the following warranty policy, which outlines the terms and conditions of our warranty coverage.

Warranty Coverage:

Our warranty covers any manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. During this period, we will repair or replace, at our discretion, any product that exhibits such defects within 1 year of urchase date.

Exclusions:

Please note that our warranty does not cover damages resulting from normal wear and tear. This includes, but is not limited to, scratches, scuffs, fading of colors, and minor cosmetic changes that occur with regular use. Additionally, any alterations to the product performed by the customer or a non-authorized third party will void the warranty.


Warranty Claim Process:

To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
a. Contact our customer service team within the warranty period, providing the original proof of purchase and a detailed description of the issue.
b. Our customer service representative will guide you through the claim process and provide you with further instructions, including the possibility of returning the product for inspection.
c. If the issue is deemed to be covered under our warranty, we will repair or replace the watch as necessary.

Warranty Limitations:

Our warranty is limited to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable. It covers only defects arising from normal use of the product in accordance with our care instructions. The warranty does not cover damages caused by improper handling, accidents, negligence, misuse, or unauthorized repairs or modifications.


Discretion of Warranty Coverage:

Please note that all warranty claims will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to determine the applicability of our warranty based on the nature of the issue and the examination of the product.


Limitation of Liability:

In no event shall MACHETE be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the product, its use, or the warranty coverage.

We offer complimentary, pre-paid return labels for exchanges and returns for store credit within 30 days of purchase.

Holiday returns will be accepted if postmarked by January 10th.

Original Shipping Fees are non-refundable.

Lost Orders

If you believe your order has been lost in transit, please contact us with any relevant information through the form at the bottom of this page. 

Packages that are not able to be recovered can be sent a replacement. We do not offer refunds due to lost packages.

Looking for a delivered package?

Sometimes USPS prematurely marks packages as "delivered" before they have completed transit.  Usually packages appear within 1-2 days later.  If it still has not arrived, please check that your package was not accidentally delivered to a neighbor, placed at the back door, or with a doorman. If you still have not received your package within 3 days, please contact us.

How do I clean my jewelry or accessories?

Jewelry

Clean items with a soft cloth, like the one you would use on a pair of eyeglasses. Any jewelry that comes in contact with makeup or a lot of moisturizers should be wiped down daily. 

Watch Bands

1.  Wipe it down

Start by wiping down the watch band with a soft cloth to remove initial layers of dirt, dust or grime. You can use a paper towel for this, but a microfiber or chamois cloth is recommended. In a pinch, a clean dish towel or t-shirt hem will work just fine, but likely won’t remove as much grime as a finer, softer cloth.

2. Dip the band in warm soapy water

First it’s important to note that you want lukewarm water, not hot or steaming water. And here’s why: temperature fluctuations can cause the acetate or steel band to expand or contract, potentially allowing water to loosen the band and damage the delicate components inside. Even the most robust and water-resistant watch bands can fail after an evening in the hot tub or sauna, and most watch manufacturers recommend against showering with your watch on your wrist because of the exposure to water above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

So to clean your watch, fill up a sink basin or clean bowl with lukewarm water. A short soak and some gentle wiping with a cloth should remove most grime from your watch. If not, you can add a drop of antibacterial dish soap to the water. Dish soap is formulated to dissolve grease, which is why it works to remove oils and debris.

3. Gently scrub the bracelet links

Use a damp, clean toothbrush to get into the crevices of the watch bracelet. Be mindful of how much pressure you apply, as a heavy hand can cause unwanted scratches.

4. Rinse with warm water

Dip the watch band in warm water or run it under the sink to rinse away the soap. Leaving soap residue can cause it to look dull, while a proper rinse will help preserve the polished surfaces like new.

5. Dry with a soft cloth

Pat the watch band dry with a bath towel, or use a hair dryer on a low-heat setting to quickly dry in between the links. If you wear the watch immediately after you clean and rinse it, your body heat will help get rid of water between bracelet links and in other little nooks and crannies.

How often should you clean your watch?

If you wear your watch every day, give it a deep clean once a month. The most meticulous watch wearers will wipe down their timepieces daily. Use a soft cloth to wipe down the inside of the band, plus the back and front of the case. This will help remove any excess moisture or lotion that rubbed off your skin and onto the watch throughout the day. Regular maintenance and care for your watch band will make your monthly deep cleaning even easier.

Italian Acetate
Our "Tortoise" styles are handmade from Italian Acetate, made and imported. Our Italian Acetate is high quality and non-petroleum based. Cellulose acetate is a natural and renewable material, providing an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum based materials. The name "Tortoise" in our earrings is only to describe the materials pattern. We do not use actual tortoise shells or other animal parts to produce our jewelry.

Earring Posts
All earring posts are made from Stainless Steel and are Hypoallergenic. 

Recycled Brass
All plated jewelry and accessories has a base of recycled and repurposed brass with ethically sourced 14k gold and sterling silver. 

Upcycled Pearls
All pearls come from dead-stock pieces that we reassemble to fit new designs. 

Shipping Materials

We are evolving our shipping materials to be as eco-friendly as possible. While we have not perfected it, we have new packaging in the works.When we do, why do we use plastic?To protect your jewelry from being scratched and damaged during order fulfillment and shipping.Regarding our use of plastic: Our plastic is #2 plastic and can be recycled easily in your home bin. It is often re-purposed as composite lumber. Packing peanuts are made from starch and easily dissolve in water. 

Print materials are printed on recycled paper.
