I have long used hair pins of this style, but I found that every one I've ever had shifted slightly more than was useful for any activity other than sitting at my desk. The size of this pin and the curve of the design makes it significantly better at staying in than others I have had. I prepped a meal for an event and served 100 people breakfast, all while wrangling my 4 year old, and this kept my hair sturdily back the entire time. I couldn't believe it and promptly ordered two more.
These large hairpins really grab my shoulder length hair and hold it in place. I initially bought one in Paris at a a high end department store and it really did not work. Thought I would take a change on Machete's hair pin and it's so much better!
